Updating NZBGet

This update process details the standard installer update process. If you have a customized installation and encounter issues, we suggest reviewing the NZBGet Github Discussion for more information.

  1. Click on the “Settings” button in the top right of the main menu area.

  2. Click on “System” from the far left menu; it’s near the top.

  3. Click on the “Check For Updates” button next to the Update NZBGet designation.

  4. Inside the Update NZBGet popup window you will see several items:

    1. Your currently installed version: This will appear at the top of the window.

    2. Three official releases: Stable, Testing, and Development.

      1. We strongly recommend for our members to stick with the stable releases for the most consistent Usenet performance.

    3. Select your update version and click the green download button.

  1. Once you’ve downloaded the new NZBGet application, double click it and launch the application.

  2. Upon launch, you will receive an alert that NZBGet is already running and will be given three options.

  3. Select the Quit NZBget option.

Once you’ve quit the NZBGet application, relaunch it. It will now ask you if you wish to move the application from your downloads folder to your applications folder. We suggest moving the application. It will now move the application to the applications folder.

  1. Once complete, your instance of NZBGet has been updated to the version you selected.
